FAQs

What is your Salon Policy?

All are welcome in our salon. We do kindly ask that you leave your children at home if you are receiving services. We love your pets, but only service animals are allowed per the RI Board of Health. We are a cashless business. You may tip your service provider directly with cash if you like, but will need a credit card for payment of products and services. Personal checks are not accepted. For the consideration of our clients and to maintain a relaxing environment please silence your cell phone and finish all calls before your treatment.

What is your Cancellation Policy?

We know things can come up unexpectedly, but we kindly ask for 24 hour notice of any changes and cancellations to your appointment. A credit card is required to reserve your appointment time. If you are unable to give us 24 hours notice to cancel it may result in a 50% charge of the service. We do this because we reserve the specific time for you and turn other client requests away. We will make every effort to fill your space to try and avoid the cancellation fee. Please inform us immediately if you are running late. Being 15 minutes late or more may result in the shortening of your service. We will always try our best to accommodate you.

Where can I Park?

We are located in Downtown Providence at 183 Mathewson St. There is limited street parking, but there are close parking garages and pay lots in the surrounding area. The PPAC Garage located at 233 Weybosset St is the closest parking structure to us.

What is a Structured Gel Manicure?

A Structured Gel Manicure is a gel-based technique that uses a thicker, builder gel to reinforce and strengthen the natural nail, creating a more durable and longer lasting manicure. This technique can help prevent breakage, mend broken free edges and provide a more sculpted natural looking shape to the nail. We only work on natural nails and do not have acrylic products. All of our nail products are vegan, cruelty free, HEMA free and “6 free”. HEMA and “6 free” refer to chemicals that can cause allergic reactions in some individuals.

What are your Sanitation Practices?

We have your health and safety in mind at Beauty Habit PVD. We have a state of the art source capture system that removes dust and fumes and emits them outside through our HVAC unit. Each station has a dust collection system that captures particles in a charcoal air filter. We use only one file and buffer per client. You are welcome to take them home with you or they will be disposed. We disinfect and sanitize all stainless steel tools in lucas-cide solution and an autoclave high heat sanitizer. This process kills microorganisms including bacteria, fungi and spores.

What should I avoid before my Hydrafacial Treatment?

Things to keep in mind before a Hydrafacial Treatment are no waxing, injectables (Botox, Fillers), laser treatments or peels at least 2 weeks prior. Stop using exfoliating products like retinols and glycolic acids one week prior.

Is everyone a good candidate for a Hydrafacial?

While Hydrafacial is great for most skin types there are some contraindications. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have active cold sores or fever blisters, active sunburn, open wounds or active infections, taking antibiotics or steroids you should avoid this treatment. We also offer Customized Facials that would be an excellent alternative.

What is the Post Care Protocol after a Hydrafacial?

Hydrafacial is a highly exfoliating treatment. Waxing and exfoliation in your skincare routine can be resumed a minimum of 1 week after. Avoid saunas, hot tubs, swimming and working out for the first 24 hours after. Be sure to hydrate your skin by drinking plenty of water especially if you received a lymphatic drainage treatment to flush toxins. Moisturize your skin morning and night and most importantly protect your skin with SPF 30 or higher. SPF will need to be reapplied if you're in direct sun for more than an hour. This step will help enhance and prolong the benefits of the Hydrafacial.

What should I avoid before Waxing?

We use only the highest quality hard and soft waxes in our treatment rooms along with soothing pre and post care products. We ask that you stop using any retinol products, antibiotics, oral or topical steroids one week prior to your waxing treatment. These products can thin the skin and increase the risk of irritation and “lifting” the skin. We also ask that you refrain from any prolonged sun exposure and chemical peels before your treatment.

What products do you carry for Retail?

We have partnered with Cosmedix skincare. Cosmedix is a professional level skincare brand at the intersection of luxury and cosmeceuticals. With clean ingredients, clinical level actives, luxurious product textures and natural botanicals, Cosmedix provides skin wellness moments for an enhanced well being.

What is your Product Return Policy?

We offer samples of most of our products so you may try them before purchasing. If you absolutely do not love your product we will offer an exchange credit to be used for another product. Product exchange credit cannot be used towards services.
